Module Two: Data Stories
Module One: Dear Data Redux
Visualization 1: Doors Through the Day
How many doors do I pass through during the day?

Visualization 2: The Running Beat
While jogging, how difficult is it to cross the street? How much traffic is passing?

Each dashed vertical line represents an instance when I decided to cross the street. Each peak represents the traffic at the time before I crossed: larger peaks represent denser traffic, smaller peaks represent lighter traffic (e.g., one car). Circles with stick figures represent people who stopped my run to talk or ask me a question.
Visualization 3: Window Birds
How many birds do I hear and notice outside my window?

- Large origami bird: bird directly outside my window (i.e., on exterior window ledge)
- Small origami bird: birds outside that I can hear from my room (i.e., from trees)
- X-axis (window ledge): time of year (left-to-right: winter, spring, summer, fall)
- Y-axis (height): time of day (top-down: early morning, morning, afternoon, night)
The number of origami birds within each panel represents the average number of distinct bird songs I heard at a specific time of day during a specific time of year. For example, the top-left-most panel with three large birds represent an average of three types of bird songs I noticed in the early morning during winter months.
